Class Room and Store Policies
To make our classes run more smoothly and to help facilitate our staff to serve you better, we are asking all to comply with the following.
l. You must pre-register for all classes, whether or not there is a fee charged. We must know who is coming to plan properly.
2. If there is a class fee, you are not considered registered until the class fee is paid. Our space is limited!
3. Only those who have paid for the class are allowed to set in on the class. No visitors, please!
4. Please do not bring illegally copied patterns to class. It puts us in an uncomfortable and compromising position. Keep in mind that it is illegal to copy materials that are copyrighted
5. If part of the class requirement is a pattern, you are expected to have your own pattern and not share this with another in the class. This causes confusion.

All of our Bernina Guide Class are FREE when you purchase your Bernina at the Crafty Corner Quilt and Sewing Shoppe!

Occasionally, Guide Classes are given on Saturdays. They are listed on the schedule. Check out the dates for the class or classes you need and either call 1-800-Sew-More or register by e-mail.

Bernina Guide Class 1:
Basics of care and cleaning of your machine
September 7

Bernina Guide Class 2:
Basic use of machine, denim sewing, blind hem, etc.
September 14

Bernina Guide Class 3:
Buttonholes, sewing on buttons, memory
September 21

Bernina Guide Class 4:
Gathering, Double Needles, Pintucks, etc.
September 28

Bernina Guide Class 5:
Quilting, Piping and more.
October 5

 The Guide classes are not about your sewing skills, but the classes will help you know and use your machine to it's full capabilities.
You receive a separate hand out at each class.
These 5 Classes are for all Models.
Bring your own Bernina and accessories to class.

Bernina Guide Class # 6 is for Models 185, 200, 630, 640 and 730
These Bernina Sewing Machines have wonderful memory capabilities and technology to make your sewing and quilting easier and enjoyable beyond belief. You can personalize the machine to your specific desires. WOW!
This class is very satisfying to all models listed.
 Bring your own Bernina.

Beginning Quilting with Kim $40.00 Four Session(s)
Kim Beginner & Adv. Beginner & Intermediate
Kim is an experienced quilter and teacher who can help you learn all the basics in just four sessions. You will be using the book, "Start Quilting" by Alex Anderson who you may know is an internationally known teacher and TV personality. The cost for all four classes is only $40 and you will receive a 20% discount on all fabric and tools for this class.

Class 1: Cutting, striping, pressing your fabric .....Monday, June 7, 6-9pm pm

Class 2: More practice on cutting, piecing and borders.....June 14, 6-9pm

Class 3: Layering, basting, marking and quilting.....June 21, 6-9pm

Class 4: Finishing up and binding, June 28, 6-9pm


 Check with the store at time of registering for class. You will need to purchase your fabric before the class. 20% off fabric/tools and book for class.

BERNINA CLUB IN AUGUST will give us a chance to wind down our summer and take a look at what will be happening this Fall.
Can you believe that we are talking about Fall and showing items for Christmas again.
It is true, and it is time to get started for that Holiday again and we really have some gr-r-eat items for the Holidays....so it promises to be FUN all over again.

BLOCK OF THE MONTH QUILT $0.00 6 Session(s)
Mary Adv. Beginner & Intermediate & Advanced
BACK TO NATURE
is the theme of this beautiful quilt fabric designed especially for this quilt. The quilt measures approx. 96"x106". The cobalt blue is splashed throughout the quilt which gives it a spark of life and reminds us of the blue of our skies and glorious lakes.
We will do this quilt in 6 sessions. There will be 6 Saturday morning sessions to explain the blocks for the month, get some helpful hints from Mary, and enjoy your companion quilters. Your fabric will all be in the kit when you purchase it.(saves on fabric not to be cutting it up into smaller parts) You, of course, may work ahead on your own or wait for the class of instruction. There will be a story board at the store during the month, so you can come in to see the sample if you wish.

Cost: $199 (front, binding, pattern, classes)

Explore the possibilities of Directional Stitching with the above Bernina Models. You will marvel at the extra large designs that can be sewn out without a hoop. Many of the designs can be continuous. Try the built in Monograms.

This is two guide classes...Numbers #1 and #2. Number 1 is care and cleaning of your machine plus some very basic essentials and # 2 deals with basic stitches of your machine and techniques including denim sewing and blind hem.
Free if you purchased from Crafty Corner.  Bring your sewing machine and accessories and thread. Fabric and hand out provided.

Kim will help you understand the Bernina Sitch Regulator feature of your machine. This feature of various models of the Bernina is the 'hotest' feature to be added to the sewing machine in years. When dropping the feed dogs, and free motion quilting, your stitches will stay uniform. Lear basic techniques and workability of the foot.  bring your machine and stitch regulator foot.

Basics in Machine Embroidery is taught by Zuby and Kim and is a free class for everyone who purchased their machine at Crafty Corner. Learn the capabilities of your machine what threads snd stabilizers that work best. Learning to hoop properly will make all the difference in your finished embroidery.
You will sew out a small project.

MILLION PILLOWCASE CHALLENGE FOR CHARITY $0.00 1 Session(s)

MILLION PILLOWCASE CHALLENGE FOR CHARITY is a national program which has caught on within the quilting industry.
The Crafty Corner Quilt and Sewing Shoppe is one of those stores who took the challenge. We are donating the fabric, if you come into the store and sew. If you have your own fabric and wish to work at home, we would be pleased to take the completed item to the Crisis Pregnancy Center, which is the Charity which we have decided to donate to.
If you are coming for the full day, we would ask that you bring your own machine. If you only have time to sew 1 or 2, then we will furnish you a sewing machine.We will also have the instructions for the pillowcase, if you have never made them before.
We are also a drop off spot for SOLES FOR SOULS If you have any shoes you are not wearing this orgranization fixes them up and ships them off to needy people....such as Haiti....and other deserving places.

These classes will get you going and feeling comfortable with your software.
Lurene leads you thru the complete software program. Classes are the second Thursday of the month beginning at 6:00 PM.
If you are interested in more information call the store. You must have reservations as space is limited and usually full.
Call 1-800-Sew-More and ask for Kim to help you get registered.  Bring your computer loaded with version6 software. If you need to use a computer from the Crafty Corner make this known at the time of registration. Our supply of computers is limited. Contact the Crafty Corner for additional information about this class!

SCRAP THERAPY $10.00 1 Session(s)
Kim Adv. Beginner & Intermediate & Advanced
This class in managing your left over scraps has become very popular.
Why let those left over pieces bother you....put them together in a very meaningful way.
Learn to manage your scrap pieces as you go....without letting them accumulate into a helpless heap. When you take the class, you will also get a container to get you started in scrap management and also a pattern.
Ask for more information at the time of registration.

There are 4 sessions planned for two seperate days.
Monday, March 1 at l-4 or 6-9 pm
Monday, March 8 at 1-4 or 6-9pm  You will bring your own scraps. There will also be scrap bags available for purchase.
Ask for a class supply list when registering.
